for amazon and walmart, is it more importent to have lower prices or to have the perception of lower price

for me, lower prices. Because consumers will always comeback to the store with lowest prices, while the perception of lower prices, once the consumers find out and realized, the will go to the store with true low prices
(this is only my opinion, sorry if i'm wrong)
